Sandusky

Thomas L. Yeager, 83, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Friday evening, January 3, 2025, surrounded by his family at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

Born August 21, 1941, in Sandusky the son of Frank Andrew and Gertrude C. (Hiss) Yeager. He attended St. Mary's Catholic High School (Class of 1960), and later, in 2001, he received his Honorary High School Diploma. In his earlier days, Tom's first job was working for the family business, "Yeager's Hauling" and later went on to work for the City of Sandusky Street Department, in maintenance, for 30 years, before retiring in 2002. Over the years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and woodworking, and he'll be remembered by his family as being an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers.

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, The Holy Name Society, Sons of AMVETS Post No.17, Knights of Columbus, Council No.546 and Sons of the American Legion Post No.83.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Christine L. "Chris" (Todd) Christiansen of Toledo; his son, Eric L. (Hilaria Walton) Yeager of Sandusky; his siblings, Dave (Sally) Yeager of Toledo, Carol (Howard) Collins of Sandusky, Paul (Marsha) Yeager of Huron and Julie (Mike) McCormick of Sandusky; a brother-in-law, Dave Wollf of Sandusky; his nieces, nephews and cousins; and his friend, Sue Hoelzer of Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy J. "Sam" (Weis) Yeager (2001); a brother, Mike Yeager; and his sister, Mary Wollf.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. (THE FAMILY REQUESTS TO PLEASE DRESS CASUAL) Prayers will be recited Friday morning, January 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky, with the Rev. Chris Turner officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870, Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or one's favorite charity.
