Viola C. (Grahl) Liptok, 106, a long-time resident of Bay Bridge, peacefully passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2022, at Danbury Senior Living Center, North Ridgeville, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Venice, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky, where she was in the church's sewing circle. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading her newspapers daily, and she was an expert pinochle player. Viola was a den mother and cub scout leader for many years and she loved to watch sports on television and was a huge Cleveland Cavs fan with Kevin Love being her favorite player.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Tom) Sigman; son, Jack (Ruth) Liptok; grandchildren, Julie (George) Nieset-Hardebeck, Douglas (Michele) Nieset, Philip (Renee) Nieset, and Emily (Pete) Keen; nine great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Lenore Grahl Syrstad; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Molly, Kathy, Hennie, Judy, Olani (Lolli), Kris, and Dawn.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Liptok; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Niest; granddaughter Catherine Nieset; parents, Frank and Matilda (Groth) Grahl; sisters, Lois Moody, Evelyn Grahl, and Inez Helfrich Renner; and brothers, Chester Grahl, Melvin Grahl, and Frank A. Grahl Jr.

Friends may call 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, until the time of services at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. The Rev. Cathy Schibler will officiate. Burial will be at Venice Cemetery. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
