Walter Agsten Obituary

Walter "David" Agsten II

May 24, 1971 - Jul 3, 2024

Huron

Walter "David" Agsten II, 53, of Huron, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, after a three year battle with cancer.

Even though his battle with cancer took him away from us, he showed us how important it is to cherish every moment with family. You never know which day could be someone's last.

David was born May 24, 1971, in Sandusky, the son of Walter David and Virginia "Ginny" Mary (Hodgkinson) Agsten. David spent most of his life in Huron where he attended Huron High School. He had a career in manufacturing of plastics in the automotive industry, having worked for a variety of companies, most recently The Plastek Group in Erie, Pennsylvania.

David was hardworking, dedicated, and encouraging. Over the years, he enjoyed watching New England Patriots and NASCAR races.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelly and Emily Agsten, both of Huron; parents; brother, Rob (Erika) Agsten of Oak Harbor; cousin, Jennifer Bolyard of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews, and other cousins.

David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harlin and Loretta (Polter) Hodgkinson; paternal grandparents, Gilbert "Curly" and Gladys (Beerman) Agstem; and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At his request, cremation will take place. There will be no funeral.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, 44106, or one's favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.

To the family of Walter Agsten my sincere condolences and to Jennifer Bolyard my co-worker and friend, I'm so sorry for you too. It was SO clear how much you loved your cousin and just how you were so strong for him even though your heart was so heavy and it showed. May God be your comforter for all and cherish the memories you had with him.
Sincerely,
Gale
