Sandusky
William E. Cardwell Sr., 88, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Admiral's Pointe after a brief illness.
He was born July 26, 1935, in Roby, Texas, to Silas and Lily (Ragan) Cardwell. He was a graduate of Newman High School in Sweetwater, Texas, and veteran of U.S. Army. He was employed at J.H. Routh Packing for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 17 and loved spending time with family, camping, fishing, and traveling.
William is survived by his wife of 68 years, Judy (Gilbert) Cardwell; five children, William E. (Mary) Jr., Peggy Wooten, Michael (Rita) Cardwell, Linda Hall, and Patti (Lynn) Mruk-Joseph; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Flora Harold; and numerous other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Jo Baker.
At William's request, cremation will take place and the family will celebrate his life privately.
Those wishing to contribute to William's memory may do so to Alzheimer's Association.
