William Miller

Huron
William Donald "Bill" Miller, 93, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Admiral's Pointe Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Bill was born December 7, 1931, in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, to Eleanor Delores Gill and Donald Gill. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Charles Miller. He spent most of his young adult life in Avon, Ohio, growing up with (and preceded in death by) his brother, Harry Robert Miller; and his uncles, Joseph, John, and Thomas Stadtmiller.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea as a radio repairman and was honorably discharged in 1955. He received four medals for his service: the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal (Korea).
He married Jennie DeBartolo Miller December 1, 1956. Jennie preceded him in death after 66 years of marriage December 17, 2022.
Bill is survived by his two children, Joni DuFresne of Huron and Bob Miller of Jefferson City, Tennessee; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors, and his beloved Boston Terrier, Parker.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Bill's personal caregivers, who enabled him to live independently until just two weeks before his passing. These caregivers became like family to us, and we owe them a debt of gratitude we can never repay.
Bill was an avid golfer. After retiring from Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a tool and die maker, he fulfilled a dream by working at Thunderbird Hills Golf Course as a starter. This position allowed him to golf for free-a true bonus for someone passionate about the sport! At the time of his retirement from Thunderbird Hills, he was the longest-tenured employee at the course. He took his job seriously, often picking up league tee-off sheets in the morning to organize them before returning to the course later in the day for work.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematorium, 410 Main St.,
