Yolanda P. Schnell, 74, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Arden Courts Memory Care of Westlake, surrounded by family, after a lengthy illness. Born March 1, 1951, in Pharr, Texas, Yolanda was a beloved mother, sister, and friend known for her hardworking and compassionate nature.
She was a graduate of Monroeville High School and spent most of her life in Milan, where she was an active member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church. Yolanda found joy working outdoors, gardening, cooking, bird watching, and cherished moments spent with her family and friends.
Yolanda's life was marked by the love and care she showed to those around her. She is survived by her daughter, Sheri (Paul) Repko; son, Steve (Susan) Schnell; sisters, Olga (Rick) Perry, Linda Endsley, Angie Martin, and Noemei (Jim) Ebert; brothers, Noe (Cheryl Cring) Santillana, Ruben (Minnie) Santillana, and Joe Santillana; stepchildren, James Schnell Jr., Lisa (Mike) Mariani, Tracey (Jerry) Tietje; grandchildren, Ryan, Isaac, Blake, Olivia, Carson, Mason, Christopher, Jarod, Gina, Nick, Jacob, and Lucas; and great-grandchild, Dale.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Schnell Sr., in 2017; and stepdaughter, Stefanie Stinchcomb, in 2017.
Yolanda will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan. Burial will be at a later date at Milan Cemetery, Milan.
