Yvonne Linda (Zeiter) Wiswell
Apr 29, 1954 - May 9, 2023
Willard
Yvonne L. Wiswell, 69, formerly of Bellevue and more recently of Willard, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at OhioHealth Mansfield after an extended illness.
Yvonne was born April 29, 1954, at Providence Hospital in Sandusky to Frank and Joyce (Gilson) Zeiter. She was a 1972 graduate of Norwalk High School and lived most of her life in and around the Sandusky, Norwalk, and Bellevue areas.
Yvonne married Glenn D. Wiswell on Feb. 7, 1982, in Clyde. Together, they had four children, three of whom are surviving. Glenn preceded Yvonne in death Dec. 8, 1994, and their son, Daniel D. Wiswell, preceded her in death Nov. 29, 2010. Yvonne was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Joyce Zeiter.
Yvonne's survivors include her children, Shane (Jynelle) Rex of Willard, Carrie Englehart of Green Springs, and Jason (Suncia) Wiswell; 14 grandchildren, Lauren (Gerry) Ward, Michelle (Austin) Reed, Nolan Rex, Hannah Rex, Gunner Rex, Derrick Englehart, Cheyanne Dean, Dalton Yates, Troy (Kara) Smetzer, Trent Smetzer, Faythe Smetzer, Jasmine Wiswell, Jessa Wiswell, and Bralyn Wiswell; seven stepgrandchildren, Josh Evans, Jacob Evans, Jordan Corbin, Savannah Herriott Eithyn Herriott, Pavlos Herriott, and Katijane Herriott; eight great-grandchildren, Macy, Trip, Nora, Mason, Taryn, Lilly, Layla, and Adalyn; two siblings, Teresa (James) Snyder of Sandusky and Harold (Sandy) Zeiter of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne cherished her relationship with God and rarely missed an opportunity to tell everyone she could about Jesus. If you ever spent any time at her home in Bellevue, you would immediately know how she expected you to behave because of the sign she put on her door declaring that the Holy Spirit lived there too and certain language would not be tolerated. Her own children and grandchildren were not exempt from this rule and she would ask you to leave until you had an attitude adjustment. This is a precious and endearing memory of the God-fearing woman that Yvonne became. She never claimed perfection, nor a life without sin, however, she claimed forgiveness and second chances for herself and for the countless others that crossed her path.
She could usually be found watching classic TV shows and movies, studying her Bible, doing crossword puzzles and word searches, and listening to music. Yvonne loved fried chicken, houseplants of all kinds, butterflies, and Native American-themed artwork. She was a dear friend to many and will be missed deeply.
Yvonne's family would like to thank the staff at The Willows at Willard for the love and care she received while a resident there, as well as the wonderful nursing and respiratory therapy staff at OhioHealth Mansfield ICU for allowing her the opportunity to pass with peace and dignity.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, until the time of Yvonne's funeral at 1 p.m. at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to the family.
