Zachary D. "Zach" Irby, 53, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at his residence.
He was born July 30, 1970, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Flora Irby and Willard C. Adams.
He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1989 and was currently employed by Bob Evans restaurant, Sandusky. Zachary had an outgoing and engaging personality and rarely met a stranger. A term that best describes Zach is eclectic as he had a style and taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. He was known about his family and friends to be a collector of Barbie dolls and antiques.
He is survived by his mother, Flora Irby; brother, Eric Irby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Zach was preceded in death by his father; brother, Christopher; maternal grandparents, Chris and Daisy Irby; and aunt and uncle, Junie Mae and Leonard Newell.
Zach's celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, until the time of his funeral at 11 a.m. at The Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky. Bishop Dr. Eugene T.W. Sanders, Pastor, will officiate and provide the eulogy.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.

I just found out my good friend Sista Simmons, as I called him, has passed on to the next life and am shocked and heartbroken. He had been on my mind so he must have been reaching out to me. Gone to soon. Smh Love and miss you. I know you are dancing to so classic house tunes in a fabulous wig and heels as only you can.

Zachary was such a kind sweet man. We would talk about music and collecting antiques. I worked at Habitat for Humanity for 2 years and whenever we had a piano in the store he´d sit and play. He was truly gifted. If truth be told I wasn´t supposed to accept pianos as donations but I´d accept them, just to hear Zachary play when he stopped in. Such talent.
