Bernardo Buathier, 92, residing in Huron, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Bernardo was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Manizales, Colombia, South America, one of six children of the late Frederic and Ana (Ozorio) Buathier. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, and retired from Delphi after almost 30 years of employment.
Bernardo is survived by his wife of 72 years, Maria (Perez) Buathier; daughter, Ruby (Tim) Lewis; sons, Victor (Jill) Buathier, Julio Buathier, Richard (Danielle) Buathier, and Bobby (Cathy) Buathier; grandchildren, Brian, Bradley, Phoenikx, Addison, Brice, Gabrielle, and Benjamin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Bernardo was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maggie.
Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, with Fr. Jacob George presiding. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, Sandusky, assisted family with arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss I was a toddler the last time I saw Uncle Bernerd. I don't remember him, except for pictures of him with me and my siblings and our mom. I wish I had gotten to know him. He was so kind to all of us. For the short time we knew him. RIP
