Carol J. Munoz, 82, residing in Monroeville, passed away early Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Carol was born October 11, 1943, in Sandusky, to the late Charles and Helen (Knupke) Barnhart Sr.

Carol enjoyed doing word search books, garage sales, shopping, going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Amy (Darryl) Hamilton and Barbara (Kerry) Chaney; three sons, Joel Munoz Jr., Christopher Munoz and Tony (Janice) Munoz; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Delores Gamez, Bonnie Verble, Dorothy Detamore, Peggy Cantu and Nancy Vojakovi; a brother, Timothy Barnhart; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Munoz Sr., in 2016; two grandsons, Cody and Joshua Munoz; two brothers, Charles Barnhart and Robert Perrine; and a sister, Penny Hennessee.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Wally Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Bloomingville Cemetery.
