Carole J. (Rettig) Lauber, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, at The Meadows at Osborn Park surrounded by her family.
Carole was born March 20, 1933, in Sandusky to the late Melvin L. and Elfrieda (Dreschel) Rettig.
Carole was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky. In her spare time, she found joy in painting, reading, sewing, and cooking. Above all, her greatest pride and happiness came from her beloved family, who will cherish her memory forever.
Carole is survived by her four children, Richard (Sandra) Lauber, Jr., Daniel (Mary) Lauber, Diane (Don) Leck and Julie Barrett; eight grandchildren, Lauren (Andy) Alessandro, Alexis Lauber, Jessica McCormick, Jennifer Lauber, Anna Leck, Isabel (Logan) Leck Monts, Kayla (Rob) Starkey and Kelli (Luke) Oakes; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Carole is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lauber Sr., in 2004; son, Robert Lauber, in 1982; and sister, Mary Ann (Dean) McKillips.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
