Cindy Knight Obituary

Cindy Marie Knight

May 2, 1966 - Jun 18, 2024

Sandusky

Cindy Marie Knight, 58, of Sandusky, went peacefully to her eternal home Tuesday, June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after an unexpected illness.

She was born May 2, 1966, in Sandusky, to Irene (Davis) Knight and Thomas Knight. In 2019, she committed to obtaining her high school diploma from Sandusky High School, alongside her two sisters.

Cindy was a longtime member of Mount Zion Church, where she began attending as a child. Cindy, lovingly known as "Knight," loved her family beyond measure. Her house was always the meeting place for every holiday or special event. Whether you were family or a stranger, you'd never leave her home without a full stomach and a happy heart. She was a mother to all, known for her selflessness and love she showed everyone. She had a larger than life personality and always radiated love. She loved to cook and dance around with family and most of all, crack the funniest jokes. Above all else, her very favorite roles in life included being "Mama" to her kids, and "Nana" to her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her father, Thomas (Kate) Knight; children, LaRone (Desiree) Knight, Jermaine (Alexis) Knight, Alton Wraggs Jr., RaShonda (Siquoy) Knight, and DeVontae Knight, all of Sandusky, aside from Jermaine (Alexis) Knight who resides in Lewis Center; brothers, Dwight (Earlene) Davis of Sandusky, Dennis (Linda) Knight of Detroit, Michigan, Timothy Everett of Sandusky, Thomas (Myra) Boggs of Cincinnati, Ricky Knight of Sandusky, and Paul (Melanie) Smoot of Sandusky; sisters, Elaine Knight, Cathy (Jerry) Johnson, and Shirley (Sylvester) Norris, all of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; a host of nieces and nephews; special brother, Dion (Brandy) Hunter; special nephew, Jerome Johnson; best friends, Donnie and Tellie; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene (Davis) Knight; son, Jermarius "Rocket" Wraggs; brother, Terry Boggs; grandson, LaRone Knight Jr.; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, until the time of Cindy's celebration of life at 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St. Pastor Paul A. Smoot will be the eulogist.
