She was born Aug. 10, 1943, at Fairview Park, to Lawerence "Bud" and Jean (Graydon) Thorne.
In June, 1958, Betsy met the love of her life, W. Russell "Rusty" Jack, for the first time as kids. Fifteen years later, the stars aligned and they were married Dec. 20, 1975, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, and shared 45 years together.

She loved to paint, read books, garden, and belonged to many area clubs including Port Clinton Yacht Club, Elks Lodge #1718, and the Literary and Social Club. She also had a unique gift for reading tea leaves and angel cards, offering insights and solace to those seeking guidance. Her readings were not just about predictions, but more about connecting with the deeper, spiritual aspects of life.
In retirement, she and Rusty embraced the calling as licensed ministers. Together, they officiated many weddings and funerals, bringing comfort, guidance, and love to those in pivotal moments of life. Their partnership in life and ministry was a testament to their commitment to each other and those whose lives they touched.
