Hal Wilbur Simon, residing in Milan, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
Hal was born March 30, 1956, in Bellevue to the late Wilbur and Lu (Grote) Simon.
Hal graduated from Edison High School in 1974. He was owner and operator of Norwalk Glass for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working outside. He also enjoyed history, especially the history of Milan, and collecting antiques.
Hal is survived by his sister, Marie Blackburn of Muncie, Indiana; his partner in life, Martha Reineck; niece, Amy (William) Spoerner of Fishers, Indiana; niece, Lisa (Sean) Masters of Yorktown, Indiana; nephew, John Blackburn of Muncie, Indiana; uncle, Norb Simon; and great-nieces and great-nephew, McKenzie, Morgan, Cabe and Emily; and a host of cousins.
In addition to parents, Hal is preceded in death by his sister, Karen Simon; and his brother-in-law, John Blackburn.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Per Hal's wishes, a cremation will take place without any visitation or services. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory will be assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made in honor of Hal to Milan Public Library, 19 E Church St, Milan, OH 44846 or the charity of your choice.
