Helen Ann (Dilgard) Collings died Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Commons of Providence. She was born September 30, 1932, in Antwerp, to David E. and Mildred (Fahrion) Dilgard. She was a 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School.

Ann worked for Ohio Edison for 26 years, retiring in 1994. She has been an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years, serving as an officer most of those years. In addition, she holds the highest degree of the Sorority - The Torchbearer. Other memberships include Daughters of the American Revolution, Humane Society, and SHS Alumni Association. She also served as a Girl Scout leader with her daughters for ten years. She delivered Meals on Wheels and books to shut-ins for Sandusky Library. She was a member of First Faith Community Church.

She was blessed with numerous close friends from the many organizations she belonged to. Ann also had the support of two loving companions, John Grandowicz, who was devoted to her for 20 years, and Tom Martin, her best friend and dear companion for 14 years. They both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four daughters, Carolyn (Mike) Hauenstein, Linda Wiandt, Victoria (Michael) Dienes, and Debra (Stephen) Hudec; grandchildren, Lori (Rob) Nickester, Jeff (Alyson) Drossman, Marcia (Rusty) Holliday, Amy (Mike) Morris, David (Azriel) Wiandt, Devan Zamarron, Jason Dienes, and Hillary (Nick) Hall; numerous great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by two infant brothers; her five-year-old sister, Mae Dilgard; her son, John David Collings, on August 4, 2008; and half sister, Violet Wallace.

Ann loved her poodle dogs, the most recent being Bridget. Preceding her were Manda, Sachiko and Nakotah.

Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the chapel at Meadow Green Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron, with Pastor John Appell presiding. Private burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
