Richard Allen Maloney, 92, residing in Milan, passed away early Sunday morning, January 4, 2026, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Richard was born January 15, 1933, in Sandusky, to the late Michael and Anna (Hydmacher) Maloney.

Richard graduated from Sandusky High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving from 1953 to 1955. He was employed as a purchasing agent at Tenneco for many years. Richard was a member of St. Anthony's Church and served as Mayor of Milan, as well as a longtime member of Milan Village Council. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, spending time at Milan Library, and taking great pride in the meticulous care of his yard.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Jill (Chuck) Wooten and Holly (Marty) Schaffer; sons, Christian (Sherry) Maloney and Timothy (Kimberlee) Maloney; grandchildren, Charles, Harrison, Elizabeth, Sabrina, Tashiauna, John, Jake, Eliza, Paul, Noah, Lauryn, Alec, Oliver and Grant; several great-grandchildren; a close friend who meant so much to the family, Sherri Didelot; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Stoll, in 2018; and siblings, Helen Eakin, Frances Hinde, Patricia Kentus, Ferdinand Maloney, Eugene Maloney and Michael Maloney.

The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 145 S Center St, Milan, with Father Recker presiding. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Milan. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
