James Stinchcomb Obituary

James M. Stinchcomb

Aug 15, 1927 - Oct 2, 2023

Lakeside-Marblehead

James M. "Jim" Stinchcomb, 96, of Lakeside-Marblehead, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 2, 2023.

Jim, Jimmy, Dad, Grandpa - Friend to all who ever crossed his path, entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"God goes with You wherever You go." One of his favorite quotes and he knew it to be true.

Jim leaves a legacy that is unmatched - professionally, philanthropically, as a friend, and above all, a family legacy.

Jim was born and raised in Lakewood by his loving, Christian parents and his older sister, Jeanne, that loved him and made him laugh like nobody else could.

Jim was a skilled hockey player until U.S. Army called him to duty in the Korean War. He served in active duty in hand-to-hand combat, earning him many medals, including "The Bronze Star."

Jim returned home from Korea in 1951 and met the love of his life, Lenore Hulbert Stinchcomb. Jim and Lenore were married for almost 65 years. They proudly raised their three children, Kim, Craig, and David, in Bay Village, and spent their summers in Lakeside. Jim raised his children to live Godly, Christian lives with a kind and loving heart. That legacy has been passed on through generations of Stinchcombs. Jim had an incredibly profound and positive influence on not only his children, but also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim had a very successful business life as he founded Stinchcomb Associates with his son, David, his best friend and business partner. Jim was admired and loved by his employees. He ran his business with integrity, professionalism, and a caring heart for his employees. Jim put others interests before his and lived a life of gratitude. "Gratitude is riches" was one of his favorite quotes and he lived it daily, thanking God for the blessed life he lived, every single day for 96 years.

Jim had a special bond with people he was around in Bay Village, Lakeside, and Sand Key. His warm smile, kind heart, and truly caring about everyone who crossed his path made him a "local celebrity" that was loved by all.

Jim had a special bond with his grandchildren, as he was extremely active in their lives. Their bond was unique and went above a typical grandparent bond. He was their friend and confidant. He passed on his legacy of gratitude, love, and kindness to others and his children and grandchildren will continue his legacy.

Jim's warm smile and caring heart will be missed by his family and many, many friends.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Ron) Fragapane, Craig (Sally) Stinchcomb, and David (Sandy) Stinchcomb; grandchildren, Aimee (Nate) Konczal, Stephanie Fragapane, Derek (Brittani) Stinchcomb, Terese (Corey) Depinet, Erin (Sam) Young, James Stinchcomb, John Stinchcomb, Carly (Isaac) Salinas, Hunter (Alex) Stinchcomb, Sam (Matt) Kaiser, and Lindsay (Chad) Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Jebediah and Autumn Konczal, Johnny, Fisher, and River Stinchcomb, Carmen and Hazel Salinas, Ella and Summer Young, Makena Fragapane, Kiera, Blake, Ally, and Elena Depinet, Waverly Stinchcomb, Kyndall, Kane, and Kallie Kaiser, and Harper and Brooklyn Patrick.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lenore; and sister, Jeanne.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

Such a loving man always had that perfect smile even if it wasn't a good day he still had that perfect smile. He always made sure we all were having fun. I'll miss seeing him.
