Joseph Jerome "Big Joe" Consevage Sr., 83, residing in Huron, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at his home after an illness.
Joe was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Danville, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Stella (Charnosky) Consevage.
He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard. He was employed by General Motors for 28 years. Joe was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and waxing his truck.
Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Isobel; children, Joe (Sandi) Consevage Jr., Bob Consevage, Cheryl (Joe) Ferraro, and John Consevage; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his four Consevage brothers, Edward, William, Leonard "Gus," and John "Jackimo."
Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel, 2001 Columbus Ave. Joe's funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with military honors.
