Kenneth Zelm Obituary

Dr. Kenneth L. Zelm

Apr 18, 1944 - Jan 20, 2025

Huron

Dr. Kenneth L. Zelm, 80, of Huron, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 18, 1944, in Withee, Wisconsin, to Edwin and Florence (Fredrick) Zelm.

He graduated from Cambridge High School in Wisconsin and from there went to Lacrosse University. Following in his brothers footsteps, he attended Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He married the love of his life, Mary Klug, December 26, 1966 and had four children.

Dr. Zelm practiced chiropractic for five decades. He started out practicing in Algona, Iowa for 13 years and the remaining in Ohio. He was able to practice with his daughter, Dr. Holly Cox, for the last 20 years of his career. This is something he was extremely proud of and he loved working with and mentoring his daughter. He also took great pride in treating and educating his patients and treating them as he would his own family.

There was nothing more important to him than his family.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; children, Jon (Amy) Zelm of Arlington, Texas, Dr. Holly (Matt) Cox of Huron, Shane Zelm of Arlington, Texas, and Justin (Annie) Zelm, of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Alex, Evan, Sam, Jenna, Casey, and Rachel; siblings, Dr. Merlin Zelm and Carol (Dr. Craig) Brue; sisters-in-law, Becky Zelm and Dr. Cheryl Mittelstedt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his siblings, Dr. Alan Zelm, Dr. Jerry Zelm, and David Mittelstedt; and two separate sisters-in-law (both named), Joann Zelm.

Private services were for immediate family.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank both Dr. Paul Bruner and the staff at Stein Hospice for their care and compassion.
