Sandusky
Larry A. Gast, 68, Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Twilight Gardens, Norwalk.
He was born in Sandusky on April 24, 1957, to the late Wilbur and Carol (Minert) Gast.
Larry was a 1976 graduate of Perkins High School and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He worked at the former Providence Hospital in maintenance and at Sandusky Foundry.
Larry loved going down by the water and visiting the Marblehead Lighthouse and the Castalia Reservoir.
He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia (Chester) Radcliff, Florida, and Kimberly McCool, Arkansas; a brother, Robert (Lori) Gast, Sandusky; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Gast; sister, Susan Coe; and a niece, Katlyn Gast.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, with the Rev. Michael Conklin officiating. American Legion Post 83 Color Guard and V.F.W. Post Honor Guard will provide the military tribute.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Larry when we were kids in the 1960s. We knew him as "Dutch". Bobby was the youngest at the time and Dutch was the protective big brother. We all thought their whitish blond hair was so cute. I will always remember the Muscular Dystrophy carnival fundraiser the neighborhood had for Gary. It even made the papers! I have fond memories of Dutch. Sending deepest sympathy to your family.
