Laure M. Swain, 62, of Fremont, passed away Monday afternoon, December 15, 2025, in her residence, following a courageous fight with cancer.

She was born August 24, 1963, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated from Margaretta High School. Laure worked many years at Ford Motor Company as a tow motor driver. She loved her dogs and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting with her husband, Chris.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Swain; sons, Thomas Gowitzka, Casey (Krista Leber) Gowitzka, and Christopher Swain; daughters, Melissa Puente, Jessica (Aniceto Jr.) Puente; mother, Katherine Kessler and father, J.R. Shelby; grandchildren, Sernity and Elijah Gowitzka, Kyden Gowitzka, Joaquin Jr, Angelina, and Xsaria Puente, Jozlynn Swain, Alexius McDonald, Audia Swain, and Peyton Puente, Aniceto III, Gavino and Domingo Puente; siblings, Deb (Tom Sengstock, Summer Shelby, Jennifer (Hershel) Cordle, Leatha Hefner, John (Terri) Trujillo, and Don (Laura) Trujillo; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Laure was preceded in death by her sister, Tina Kessler and her grandparents.

At Laure's request, there will be no visitation. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
