Leonard C. "Lenny" Didion, 98, of Monroeville, passed away Monday June 12, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after a brief stay.

Len was born Dec. 26, 1924, to Charles and Theresa (Wernert) Didion. He attended Monroeville schools and worked on the family farm in his youth. He continued maintaining the farm while managing Firelands Tool Rental for 30 years. After retiring from FTR, Len was responsible for lawn care at Riverside Cemetery for 12 years.

A lifelong member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville and a 79-year member of Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus, Len loved gardening and spending time with family.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Janice (Heinz) Didion of Monroeville; daughter, Linda Poland of Wakeman; sons, Mike (Cathy) of Sheffield Village and Charles (Tammy) of Greenwich; six grandchildren, Matthew of Norwalk, Zachary, Chris, and Sarah of Greenwich, Tony of Cuyahoga Falls, and Andrew of Sheffield Village; and many nieces and nephews.

Len was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Theresa; sister, Cecilia Bauman; and stepbrothers, Linus, Bernard, Florian, and Norman.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Len's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio, 44847. Fr. Chris Jesudhason will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or favorite charity in remembrance of Leonard.
