Nancy L. Gruver, 81, of Huron, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023.

She was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Fremont, to Howard and Christine (Miller) Hasselbach. Nancy was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She married James Gruver on April 30, 1965, at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont, and he preceded her in death Aug. 20, 2022.

She was a member of Christian Women's Club, Grace Lutheran Church, and volunteered at Fremont Memorial Hospital and Firelands Regional Medical Center. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling across the nation to attend kite festivals with James as well as visit her family, watching the sunset over Lake Erie from her condo, and going out for dinner with her group of friends from Beachwood Villas.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deena Gruver of California, David (Kelly) Gruver of Tennessee, and Douglas (Kathryn) Gruver of Ohio; grandchildren, Devin, Isaac (Rebecca), Jacob, and Gabrielle Gruver; and siblings, Janet (Jim) Morley of Fremont and Jim (Shirley) Hasselbach of Oak Harbor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James.

Nancy was a very kind loving sweet woman. I worked along the side of her at Firelands. She was always willing and wanting to help with whatever she could. She will be truly missed and never forgotten
