Omar E. "Bud" Meyer III

Omar E. "Bud" Meyer, 85, residing in Norwalk, passed away at his son's home Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

Bud was born March 8, 1939, in Sandusky, to the late Omar E. Meyer Jr. and Mary Irene (Fahler) Meyer.

Bud was owner and operator of O.E.Meyer, serving as Vice President before retiring after many years of service. He also served as a part-time police officer for many years. Bud was a member of Bronson Township Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and enjoying nature. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids.

Bud is survived by his wife, Bertha Virginia (Midgett) Meyer; daughters, Christine (Gary) Orshoski of Bayview and Debbie Wadsworth of North Carolina; son, Troy (Judy) Meyer of Norwalk; six grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, Nick, Brittany, TJ, and Riley; two great-grandchildren, Kenna and Hayden; niece, Elise Hofer; and nephew, David Hofer.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Hofer.

A private family service will be conducted at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory will be assisting family.
