Robert L. Hartley, 74, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday Oct. 9, 2024, in his residence following a brief illness.

He was born July 30, 1950, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1969. He was a contractor in the construction field for many years and was a member of the Sandusky Elks. Robert was an avid bowler and loved to watch sports and anything racing, he also loved to watch his grandchildren's sporting events.

He is survived by his daughters, Charmaine (Jason) Brown and Shannon Hartley; son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Hartley; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Brianne, Katelynn, Dustin, Brendenn, Kristofer, Kayle, Kyler, Casey, Christian and Connor; five great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ronda (Schoenegge) Hartley; son, Chris Smith; grandson, Zech Protzman; parents, Charles and Virginia Hartley; sister, Cookie Walker; and brothers, Donald, Thomas, Ronald and Elden Hartley.

A celebration of life will be 5-7 p.m. Monday Oct. 14, 2024, at Sandusky Elks Club 120 E. Adams St., Sandusky.

Sansom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Erie County Humane Society.
