Struthers, Ohio
Robert T. Wilson, 100, residing in Struthers, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Oct. 29, 2022, at Hospice House in Youngstown after a brief illness.
Robert was born May 5, 1922, in Strongsville, to the late John T. and E. Maude (Suhr) Wilson.
Robert graduated from Sandusky High School in 1941. He was employed in maintenance and as a bus driver with Perkins Board of Education for 28 years until retiring in 1985. He also worked for Apex Electric. Robert was a veteran of U.S. Navy, having proudly served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 2529. He was an avid sports fan, supporting Sandusky High School football games for over 50 years, coaching his children in baseball leagues for years, and he loved cheering for Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Duke basketball.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Beth A (Wendell) Wagnon of Struthers; three sons, Robert C. (Sharon) Wilson of Washington, Thomas J. (Marie) Wilson of Sandusky, and Mark A. (Charlotte) Wilson of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Gina Wilson of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Weber) Wilson in 1998; daughter, Patricia A. (Jerry) Maag; son, Scott A. Wilson; and three brothers, Paul, John, and William Wilson.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Robert's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

RIP Bob Wilson. So many fond memories of you as a Perkins Schools employee-from when I was a student in the 1960´s & 1970´s to when I returned as a fellow employee in the 1980´s and even after your retirement when you would return to see old friends. Thank you for your dedicated service to our students.
