Stanley Joseph "Stan" (Pietraszewski) Peters passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at his home.

He was born June 24, 1942, in Buffalo, New York, and lived most of his life in Huron. He spent winters with his wife, Carol, in Tavares, Florida for many years. He loved his hometown and his Polish heritage.

Stan attended St. Peter School and graduated from Huron High School in 1960. He was a proud graduate of University of Cincinnati, earning a civil engineering degree. He loved his career and was responsible for managing many projects, including the Radisson and Shooters in Sandusky, as well as Tower City.

Stan enjoyed playing cards, skiing, and bowling. He loved fishing, especially with his son, nephews, grandsons, and brothers. He loved Walt Disney World, watching Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State. He loved going to the Westside Market and eating good seafood. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He coached his two kids in baseball and softball for many years and enjoyed watching them play baseball, basketball, track, and volleyball at Huron High School. More recently, he could always be found at the sidelines of Vermilion volleyball, soccer, and basketball games, watching his grandchildren.

Stan had a big personality and never met a stranger. He always answered the phone, "Peters Palace, this is the King speaking." He loved making people laugh, telling stories, and was generous to a fault. He was always eager to help out those who needed it and was a mentor and friend to many. He always said he had a great life and chanted "Be Happy, Mon!"

More than anything, Stan loved his family. He loved Sunday family dinners, family vacations, and spending time together. He was married to the love of his life, Carol, for 51 years before her passing in 2019.

He is survived by his children, James Peters and Barbara Hendershot; daughter-in-law, Krista Peters; son-in-law, Thomas Hendershot; grandchildren, Samantha, Mike, and Jenna Peters, and Andrew, Adam, and Ryan Hendershot; brothers, David Peters and Chris (Nancy) Peters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Margaret Morris.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Florence (Gasiewicz) and Stephen Peters; wife, Carol (Joerger) Peters; and sister, Judith Rogers.

Per his wishes, a celebration of life will be at a later date for friends and family to gather and remember a life well-lived.
