Stephanie Schee Obituary

Stephanie Teresa (Smith) Gebauer Schee

Jan 27, 1950 - Feb 14, 2025

Huron

Stephanie Teresa (Smith) Gebauer Schee, 75, residing in Huron, met our Lord Friday, February 14, 2025, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, after a brief illness.

Stephanie was born January 27, 1950, in Fremont to Iris (Reiter) Claar and the late Tom Claar.

A 1968 graduate of Clyde High School, Stephanie furthered her education at Tiffin University and Firelands BGSU. She dedicated her career to serving as the school treasurer for Ridgedale Local School District in Marion.

A proud member of Lyman Boat Owners Association, Stephanie had a deep appreciation for the beauty of rare and unique flowers in her garden. She found joy in the thrill of lottery tickets and had an adventurous spirit that made traveling a passion. Her love for all things distinctive extended to her lifelong hobbies-crafting, sewing, and winemaking. Stephanie was an avid collector, cherishing her beloved Betty Boop memorabilia, flamingos, and mermaids-her personal avatar. But above all, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. We will forever miss this smart, generous, magnificent woman who gave her love freely.

Those of us left in sadness are Stephanie's mother, Iris Claar; husband, Dan Schee, whom she married February 17, 2006; daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Clark; siblings, Wendy Alafita, Bunny (Scott) Robles, Chris (Angelene) Claar, and Richard Claar; grandchildren, Emily Gebauer, Aubrea Branco, Trinity Branco, Elizabeth (Derik) Kopp, and Cameron (Skye) Lamb; great-grandson, Tripp Kopp; stepchildren, Andrew Schee, Dana (Mark) Ansell; six stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her father, Stephanie is preceded in death by her beloved son, Nathan L. Gebauer; and blessed sister, Jennifer Claar.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at Victory Church, 2051 Old Oak Harbor Rd, Fremont, OH 43420, with Pastor Scott Robles presiding.

Those wishing to contribute to Stephanie's memory may do so to Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Stephanie was a true friend to all who allowed her to know them. She was a great person who shared my passion for working for children in schools. Larry Hanneman, Retired Treasurer, EHOVE Career Center
