Cheri Belle Obituary

Cheri Ann Belle

Oct 28, 1961 - Jan 17, 2026

Cleveland

Cheri Ann Belle, 64, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by family.

Cheri was born October 28, 1961, in Sandusky, the eighth child of eleven siblings, born to Evans and Lois Belle.

She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and worked for the State of Ohio for over fifteen years. Cheri accepted her call to ministry in 1984 while attending St. Stephen's AME Church in Sandusky, and is recognized for being one of Sandusky's first women in ministry.

She attended Cleveland State University for two years and also completed various classes for biblical studies over the course of many years, including becoming a graduate of Alpha and Omega Bible Training School in 2006. Her latest achievement was earning an associate's degree from Midwest College of Theology in Toledo.

In October 1994, she moved to Siler City, North Carolina, and worked with Beulah Outreach Ministries and served in the prayer and dance ministries at Faith Bible Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. After her return to Cleveland in 2006, she united with the Church of the Living God and submitted under the tutelage of Apostle Barbara Dillard.

She was ordained as an Elder in 2010 in the organization of the Church of the Living God (CWFF) and served faithfully in many ministry capacities, including overseeing the Prayer and Dance Ministry while dancing prophetically during worship services. She also served as Apostle Dillards' lead Armor Bearer for the length of her tenure.

She was very gifted in dance and extended her talents to others in the Body of Christ. Her other talents include a flag ministry, along with developing her own line of custom-designed flags and tabrets.

She is survived by daughter, Destiny Belle, of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Essence and Imani Belle, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Isaiah and Jermiah Camp, of Erie, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, DaSani McCullum and Kash Holloway, of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Eirvae Belle-McLaurin, of Charlotte, North Carolina; four brothers, Terry, of Canal Winchester, Richard (Toyia), of Orlando, Florida, David (Lisa), of Cincinnati, and Kim "Stevie", of Charlotte, North Carolina; sisters, Deborah Johnson and Tonya Belle, of Erie, Pennsylvania, Joyce (Tony) Huggins, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Leslie Belle, of Lithopolis, and Jodi Belle, of Charlotte, North Carolina; best friend, Deborah Baker; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Lynn Graves for her support.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, Evans and Lois Belle; brother, Donald Belle; and brother-in-law, Cass Johnson.

Cheri's vibrant personality would lighten up any atmosphere and her joy will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her. With a smile that could soften any moment and a presence that warmed every space, she leaves behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and unforgettable memories. Cheri's light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Church of the Living God, 10305 Garfield Ave., Cleveland. A committal service will take place for immediate family inside Oakland Cemetery Chapel. Cheri will be entombed.

So sorry to hear of your loss your family will be in my prayers. I will always remember the duet that Cheri and Mickey sang "God Is" when we were all in the Inspirational Chior at St. Stephen´s AME Church. I hope the words of that song will comfort you in this time of grief

Sincere condolences to the Belle family from Sherri D. of OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland Cuyahoga. Cheri was very supportive to the entire staff at OMJCC and always assisted others with kindness and compassion. I am saddened by the loss, but grateful to have worked with such a kind professional person as she was.

I am so sorry for Cheri's family and other friends. I always loved working with Cheri; she had the same smarty pants attitude about things as I did. She always looked beautiful, dressed to the nines, and had a strut to her walk that displayed her confidence. I hadn't seen her for several years, but we did chat here and there online. I wish I would have reached out over the last year. Prayers to all.

Cheri Belle, my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to your family. You were a true friend-steady, kind, and genuine-and your life touched more people than you may have ever realized. Your presence, your love, and your faith will be missed beyond words.

Please know that your family is in my prayers, and we are praying for strength, peace, and comfort during this painful time. My pastor and I will truly miss you, Evangelist Belle. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone you loved and served.

Rest well, Cheri Belle. You will never be forgotten.

I worked in the same building with Cheri and have missed her ever present sassiness and good sense of humor. She is definitely someone who will be remembered fondly and I hope her family knows she was well liked by her colleagues. May she rest in peace.

I worked with Cheri a few years ago and will miss her smile and the way she didn't pull punches. You always knew how she felt and where you stood with her. Such a bright star gone too soon. Until we meet again, Cheri...

To the entire Belle family,
We will certainly miss Cheri and know that she is resting in the arms of Jesus! For the scripture says, 2 Corinthians 5:8 To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
