Tammy Thomas Obituary

Tammy Lee Thomas

Apr 4, 1959 - Sep 21, 2024

Sandusky

Tammy Lee (McNair) Thomas, 65, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, Sept, 21, 2024, surrounded by her family at Stein Hospice after being diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.

She was born April 4, 1959, in Sandusky, the daughter of Marvel June Dennison and Charles Norman McNair Sr. Tammy attended Sandusky High School and enjoyed many years making friends while working at various places such as G&C Foundry, Prepared Foods, Sandusky Plastics, Sandusky Transit, and most recently she worked the past 17 years for Huron City Schools. She dearly enjoyed her principals, teachers, staff, and especially her younger students, of which she often spoke fondly of.

She most enjoyed spending time with the people she loved, whether riding motorcycles, spoiling her grandkids, tipping a few back with friends, or watching her Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers play football. Those that knew Tammy best would describe her as the happiest person in the room, always smiling, kind to everyone she met, and one of the hardest workers you ever knew. She will be remembered most for being selfless, always looking out for others above herself, until her final breath.

Tammy is survived by her sons, Robert "Bob" (Christi) of Kissimmee, Florida, and Shane of Bellevue; grandchildren, Lindsey, Amberly, Adam, Mackynzie, Ashlynn, Evan, Madeline, Lillian, Ella, and Rosaleigh; sisters, Debbie (Danny Klein) Grooms of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, and Marvel (Bob) Hutchinson of Sandusky; brother, Arthur Killian of Sandusky; many beloved cousins; and countless nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel "Boone" Killian, Daniel "Dan" McNair, and Charles "Chuck" McNair; and sister, Charlene McNair.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Tammy's funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at the funeral home. There will be private time for the family at 3 p.m. prior to the visitation. The Rev. Jeff Watson from The Chapel will officiate.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation at cjdfoundation.org.
