Sandusky
Allen N. Lentz, 83, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born April 3, 1940, in Sandusky, to Elmer and Meta (Amolsch) Lentz and was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Allen worked for 20 years at A&P in Sandusky and Port Clinton and also worked for Colonial Inc. on Put-in-Bay.
He loved bowling in the Citizens Classic League for many years, playing softball on Put-in-Bay, and watching Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Browns. Allen was former President of Sandusky Eagles, loved traveling, cruises, feeding his birds and squirrels, but most of all, spending time with his grandkids and family.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stimmel) Lentz, to whom he was married 61 years; daughters, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Linkenbach, Michelle (Harry) Drury, and Shelly (Darrell) DeQuichi; grandchildren, Tiffany (Adam) Righi, Joshua (Leslie) Drury, Hollie Segee, Luciano DeQuichi, Dominic DeQuichi, and D'Angelo DeQuichi; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Lenke and Peggy (Fred) Sanchez; brother, Elmer (Virginia) Lentz; and best friends, Jerry and Larry Lizzi.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Erica Alley; and sisters, Sandra LeBlanc and Karen Fox.
Visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, until the time of Allen's funeral at 1 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Entombment will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Memorial contributions in Allen's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or one's favorite charity.
