Carol was born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio, and moved to Canada in the late 50s with her then-husband, Gerry Cockerill, settling in Collingwood in 1967. Over the years, Carol volunteered for many charitable organizations such as hospital auxiliary, Rotary Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Red Hat Society, and Probus. Carol was a very talented decorator, making her home and many others around the Collingwood area beautiful. For years, she was the head decorator for Kaufman of Collingwood and helped restore 200 Oak St, a Collingwood historical home, and redecorate the Collingwood town hall. Following that, she ran her own wall decor import business in Mississauga, finally retiring back in Collingwood. She kept a meticulous home and garden. She loved to entertain, set a pretty table, make fancy meals, and play bridge with her friends.
Thank you to her loving and supportive care team over the years, especially Kamal, Kelly, Marcella, Shivraj and many others. Special thanks to Dr. Peter Wells for his care and guidance.
As per Carol's wishes, there is to be no funeral. Internment at Trinity United Cemetery, Collingwood, ON, Canada.
