Douglas R. "Doug" Paule, 58, of Castalia, passed away Monday morning, April 24, 2023, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 19, 1964, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1983. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, and worked for Sandusky Machine and Tool for 39 years. Doug was the Margaretta Livestock 4H advisor for 40 years and was a member of Townsend Ruritan. He was also a huge Ohio State fan.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Paule of Fremont; brother, Mark (Kay) Paule; six nieces and nephews, Jessica Paule, Jarrett Paule, Kaitlyn Rose, Christi Felder, Lynsay Sumser, and Garrett Alt; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless adopted 4H kids.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lois (Taylor) Paule; and a great-niece.
Doug's celebration of life will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.

Doug, Bob Gregory and I were all friends in high school. I remember him driving an old car that was missing a engine mount and it would rock back and forth when he hit the gas.
