Eric S. Hughes, 54, of Castalia, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic, Main Campus, following a lengthy battle with a lung condition.
He was born Jan. 14, 1969, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1987, where he attended EHOVE. Eric was a delivery driver for UPS for 20 years and was President and helped run Castalia Rec. for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time outdoors in the woods and mountains.
He is survived by his children, Scott (Sarah) Hughes, Ashley Hughes, and David Hughes; grandson, Liam Hughes; and brother, Dennis Hughes.
Eric was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Hughes; parents, Dewey and Betty (Lundy) Hughes; and brother, Richard "Ricky" Hughes.
Eric's celebration of life will be 1-5 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association and Castalia Rec.
