Gregory "Greg" Sheets, 79, of Huron, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Avon.
Greg was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Toledo, the beloved son of Charles and Elsie (Kalweit) Sheets. He graduated with pride from Huron High School in 1962. Throughout his life, Greg remained dedicated to his community and was involved in various organizations, including AMVETS, Huron Browns Backers, Orioles, and Huron Eagles.
Greg's career spanned four decades, during which he worked tirelessly as an electrician at IBEW 867 for 20 years and later at Ford Motor Company UAW 1216 for another 20 years. Beyond his professional endeavors, Greg was known for his unwavering loyalty to Cleveland Browns, his passion for travel, and his deep affection for his family and friends.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Barbie (Fish) Sheets; sisters-in-law, Mary Barber and Jackie Newton; nieces, Holly Barber of Perrysburg and Colleen (Joe) Tennant of Wadsworth; and great-nieces, Mylea Barber, Alaina Tennant, and Abby Tennant.
In honoring Greg's memory, the family will have a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Erie County Humane Society, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or Back to the Wild, 4504 Bardshar Rd., Castalia, Ohio, 44824.
Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, is assisting family.
