Hattie Woodall Obituary

Hattie Mae Woodall

Nov 20, 1949 - Sep 27, 2023

Sandusky

Hattie Mae "Bossy" Woodall, 73, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Bossy was born in Sumter, South Carolina, to Tally Rodgers and Betty Ruth Brown Stokes. Bossy graduated from Fifth Avenue High School in 1969 and then took up full-time employment within the William Morehead Federal Building in downtown Pittsburgh, where she worked for over 35 years, service to our country. After many years of hitting the pavement at 6 a.m. and not getting home until 6 p.m., Bossy retired and fell in love with her favorite pastime of horse race betting and enjoying her freedom. She was a strong woman, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Bossy was an over 20-year breast cancer survivor along with other health related issues, but she never stopped fighting, no matter what life threw her way. She had a few genuine friends during her years here on earth. Maryann Stephens and Linda Loving were always recognized as her two closest and dearest friends. Her best friend of all was her mother, Betty Ruth Brown Stokes. Those two were a powerhouse together and were the backbone of their immediate family. Those two women set the tone for the host of immediate family members to follow and they both have left behind a legacy that will forever live!

She is survived by her only child, Jason M. Woodall Sr.; host of siblings who reside in South Carolina; siblings reside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
