Joan (Large) Kiser, 81, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 2, 2024, at Providence Care Center.

Joan was born March 1, 1943, in Clintwood, Virginia, to William and Priscilla (Yates) Large.

Joan graduated from Clintwood High School. She married Landon Kiser on Jan. 27, 1962. She retired from Value City furniture where she was a salesperson for many years. Joan was a member of Wayside Temple in Castalia. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was her grandson, Zachary's, biggest fan.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Robin (Marc) Meyers; grandson, Zachary (fiancé Katelyn Yost) Meyers; sisters, Jewell Rakes of Piney Flats, Tennessee, and Jean Shepard of Dunnellon, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Landon A. Kiser in 2018; daughter, Kimberli Kiser in infancy; sisters, Madeline Keith and Faye Sadler; and brother, Gerald Large.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, until the time of Joan's funeral at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Rusty Yost of Wayside Temple will co-officiate with the Rev. Wayne Keith. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
