It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Neal Sabino, 80, a beloved figure in the greater Youngstown community and beyond.

Neal, who was born May 11, 1944, to Mafalda (née Vivolo) and Neal Sabino, peacefully departed this world Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children after an illness. Neal's legacy is one of warmth, humor, and unwavering support for his loved ones.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 40 years, Nancy; four cherished children, Lauren Ahmed (Yusuf), Jill Sabino Pavlis (John), David Sabino (Amy), and James Sabino; sister, Josephine Kolic; many cousins; and six adoring grandchildren, Vanson, Alayna, Jacob, Anthony, Lily, and Jonah. Neal's impact will be felt for generations to come.

Those who knew Neal best remember him as a man with an infectious zest for life. He loved to travel, exploring destinations like Las Vegas, Hawaii, Italy, and the picturesque Geneva on the Lake. Whether he was sharing his rich Italian heritage with others or simply enjoying a bowl of pretzels while watching the news, Neal's ability to make people laugh and feel at home was unparalleled. Beyond his warm personality, Neal was also a savvy businessman and entrepreneur. Fifty years ago, he founded TNS Insurance, a company that remains under the management of his family. His sharp business acumen and personable demeanor made him a natural salesman and leader respected by all who had the pleasure of working with him. Neal's true passion, however, lay in his unwavering devotion to his family. He delighted in surprising his children and grandchildren with special gifts, birthday celebrations, and quiet acts of generosity. His wife, Nancy, remarked that Neal had an unique ability to make everyone who crossed his path feel like family or close friends. The Sabino family is heartbroken to lose such a vibrant, irreplaceable presence in their lives. Yet, they find solace in the countless memories of Neal's infectious laughter, steadfast support, and the special way he made the world a little brighter for all who knew him.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents; nephews, Michael and Tom Kolic; and brother-in-law, Tom Kolic.

Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, until the time of Neal's funeral at 11 a.m., all at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Deacon Phil Dinovo will preside. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor Neal's memory by sharing a meal with loved ones and raising a glass to this remarkable man who believed that good food, good conversation, and a solid martini could solve any problem.
