Phyllis McKillips Obituary

Phyllis A. McKillips

Jun 25, 1942 - Dec 10, 2024

Sandusky

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Phyllis McKillips, a wonderful mother, grandmother, homemaker and best lemon pie maker, a Godly women, the epitome of love, care and generosity.

She passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by the love of her family. Leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and memories that will be cherished forever.

She was born June 25, 1942, in Hope, Kentucky to the late Ernest L. and Callie (Crockett) Becraft.

Phyllis was the heart and soul of our family, always ensuring that her home was a place of comfort and joy, with the need to feed everyone who walked through her door. Her love for her family was boundless, and she dedicated her life to creating a nurturing environment where everyone felt safe, valued and loved. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel special, and her gentle guidance and unwavering support shaped us into who we are today.

Her kitchen was a place of magic where she lovingly prepared meals that brought the family together. Her cooking was second to none, a gift that not only filled our stomachs but our hearts as well. Every dish she prepared reflected her love, and her recipes will be passed down for generations along with the countless memories of family dinners filled with laughter, stories and the unmistakable taste of home. Above all, Phyllis was the embodiment of selflessness. She gave without expecting anything in return, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her love knew no Bounds, and her legacy of generosity will live on through each of us.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Mckillips; sons, Charlie (Dena), Todd (Andrea); granddaughter, Jennifer (Erik) whom she raised as her own daughter, Ashely, Kristin (Max), Nikki, Erica (Kenny), Kari (Spencer), Gabbi, Lexus (Tyson), Lindsay, Drew, Lacy, Ethan, Brayden, Jordan, Aliyah, Klara, Kolten, Eliana, Torryn, Lincoln, Eliza, Kaleb and Theodore who will forever carry her in their hearts. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in every aspect of our lives.

Including her parents; she is preceded in death by her sons, Kelvin and Allen McKillips.

Rest in peace, dear Phyllis. Your love, warmth and kindness will never be forgotten. You have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of Knowing you, and we are eternally grateful for the time we shared together. We love you and you will always be missed.
