Sandusky
Sydney H. Gallagher, 75, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, September 13, 2025, at Parkvue Health Care Center after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
Sydney was born April 28, 1950, in Long Island, New York, to the late Dr. Brian and Alice (Rosenthal) Gallagher.
Sydney received his engineering degree from GMI (now Kettering University) in Michigan and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a Production Manager at New Departure/KBI, retiring after 47 years of service. A man of quiet strength and kindness, Sydney was known for his humble spirit, soft-spoken nature, and the warmth of his smile and laughter. He was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed vacationing, with trips to Mexico being among his favorite memories. He was also a longtime fan of Cleveland Browns.
Sydney is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cynthia "Cindy" (Harrigan) Gallagher, whom he married November 4, 2005; two daughters, Janice (Brian) Zanjani and Linda Gallagher; stepdaughter, Lori Davis; two grandchildren; sister-in-law, Melinda (James) Lapinski; brothers-in-law, James (Becky) Harrigan and Sam (Nonita) Harrigan; his beloved Shih Tzu, Si; and other relatives.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery, Sandusky.
