Charles David Jenkins, 77, of Huron, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023.

He was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Port Clinton, the son of George Charles Jenkins and Gwendolyn Vilinda Canter. He married Eileen Marie Knupke on June 25, 1966, at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Charles graduated from Sandusky City School in 1964 and from General Motors Institute in 1970. He retired from New Departure/Delphi after 35 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron. He was a 4-H advisor and enjoyed all the 4-H activities. Charles also coached youth baseball and was a Boy Scout assistant leader. He loved decorating for Christmas, collecting Fenton glass, working on family history, and family get-togethers.

He is survived by the love of his life, Eileen; daughters, Julie Ann (Delbert) Kyer and Sara Jane (Eric) Matz; son, David Allan (Kimberly) Jenkins; five grandchildren, Thomas, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Megan, and Christopher; two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Charlie Eileen; and sister, Cheryl (Ted) Sahley.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Thomas and Anthony.

Visitation for friends will be 12 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, until the time of Charles' service at 2 p.m. at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Serving Our Seniors, 310 E. Boalt Street, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
