Daniel Paul "Dan" Roeder, 72, born Aug. 2, 1951, in Norwalk, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Hallo and Judi Curtis; brother, Jim Roeder; sons, Shawn (Dana) and Troy (Becky) Roeder; daughters, Dani (Scott) Prater and Melanie Wylde; grandchildren, Benjamin, Loryn, Jalen, Baron, Johnathan, Bristy, Savannah, Brayden, Madeleine, and Hayden; and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His loved ones remember him as a loyal and devoted friend.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Roeder; sister, Susan Golasz; and brother, Phil Roeder.
Dan (Gator) spent most of his life in Sandusky where he raised his family. He spent his last few years living in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a Tool and Die Maker by trade and was naturally gifted at building and repairing nearly anything structural or mechanical. He was an avid boater, swimmer, and fisherman, and a tenacious basketball and card player.
Dan also spent a great deal of time sharing his faith and hope as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, until the time of Dan's memorial service at 3 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5014 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Those unable to attend in person can attend via Zoom.
