Diane L. (Matter) Jesberger, 77, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Friday, January 9, 2026.

She was born March 15, 1948, in Sandusky, to Elwood J. Matter and Mary (Robert) Walton.

Diane was a graduate of Sandusky High School and was employed for 24 years as a Nurse's Aide at the Ohio Veterans Home, retiring in 2012. She was dedicated to the residents' care and treated them like family.

She was a true history buff; she enjoyed reading, listening to classic rock, watching football and baseball, and watching scary movies, and rooting for Cleveland sports, Ohio State, Kansas City Chiefs, and New York Yankees. She also enjoyed gardening, taking walks, and spending time by the lake.

Diane took great pride in her home and had a special love for animals and her family. She was generous and selfless, always willing to give the shirt off her back for those she loved. A faithful and devout Christian, Diane loved the Lord Jesus Christ and lived her life grounded in His Word. Her faith was the foundation of her strength, guiding her through life's joys and challenges. She passed her love for Christ on to her daughter and grandsons and found peace in the promise of eternal life through her Savior.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Jesberger; her daughter, Julie (Bill) Reed; her three grandsons, Sam, Josh, and Will; and her siblings, Rick (Carol) Matter, Bob Walton, and MaryKay (Dan) Jamison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Walton.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.

Inurnment will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron.
